Job For a Cowboy: Why We Love This Band, Episode 3 - Renegade Jukebox #34

October 02, 2023 by Michael Kaye in Music, Renegade Jukebox

On this episode of Why We Love This Band, remember when My Space deathcore took the world by storm? Well, Job For A Cowboy would rather you didn't (and we'd tend to agree). So Nick & Mike decide to mainly cover their 4 studio albums and why they've aged like fine expertly crafted death metal wine! And get some jabs in at Blue Ridge Rock Festival on the process!

What’s going on, everyone? This is your Captain speaking, and I’m excited to share this episode! But first, I have to give a shout out to the editor of this podcast, and one of the founding members of Renegade Pop Culture, Keona. I owe a lot of my online presence to him, for giving me a platform about 9 years ago to share my passion for all things in the world of entertainment. I don’t say this publicly enough, but thank you for everything you’ve done not just for me, but for the entire RPC family. Now, without further ado, please tune into the podcast to hear the full discussion about one of the best death metal bands of the 21st Century, Job for a Cowboy!

That’ll do it for this episode! Thank you all for joining us, and thank you again Keona for all of your contributions to the site! New decade. New rules. New Trivium, figuratively and literally. In Waves is a huge turning point in the band's catalog, one the band insisted was a necessary step to them continuing. Is the album a shower or a grower? Or would we not see what they were going for on later albums? Listen and find out.

Uh oh, Nick & Mike are entering controversial territory on this Jukebox episode. This time on The Trivium Retrospective, we look at the first Trivium album worth defending. The Crusade is a widely debated album. Is it just copying Metallica or is there legitimate merit to these songs? Or is it just people making shit up to hate on a band that got popular off a landmark classic album? Listen and find out.
