The Rise and Squall of Limp Bizkit Part 2: Significant Other - Renegade Jukebox #22

September 12, 2022 by Michael Kaye in Music, Renegade Jukebox

In this episode, Captain Kaye and the Super Saiyan Death Metal God discuss Limp Bizkit's 2nd studio album, Significant Other, and now MTV played a pivotal role in the band's continued success.

What’s going on, everyone? This is your Captain speaking, and I’m excited to share this latest installment of our miniseries The Rise and Squall of Limp Bizkit! Significant Other is the one album out of the band’s earlier catalogue for which I genuinely had the most nostalgia. In the podcast, we get deeper into what this album, and by extension the band themselves, meant for the music industry towards the end of the 90’s. Tune in if you want to hear more about what Nick and I thought of Limp Bizkit’s iconic sophomoric record.

That concludes part 2 of this 4-part journey! Thank you all for joining us, and stay tuned for a special episode of Renegade Marquee if you want to hear more about the Trainwreck that was Woodstock ‘99.

But actually how is the music on display? Well, listen and hear Nick & Mike defend this gem.

Jukebox returns with the next episode in The Trivium Retrospective, Vengeance Falls. Nick & Mike confessed in the last episode that it had been a long time since either of them actively jammed the album. So how does it hold up? Sit back, relax and get ready to Ooh ah ah ah as Trivium collaborate with David Draiman. (The results fair considerably better than Disturbed last two albums.)

New decade. New rules. New Trivium, figuratively and literally. In Waves is a huge turning point in the band's catalog, one the band insisted was a necessary step to them continuing. Is the album a shower or a grower? Or would we not see what they were going for on later albums? Listen and find out.
