What’s going on, everyone? This is your Captain speaking, and welcome to the third annual Renegade Animation Awards celebration! 2022 was a roller coaster year for the medium of animation, but for the most part Cameron and I wanted to focus on the positives for this episode. As far as the films and television shows released, I can say quite comfortably that last year was one of the best years for animation. We saw a variety of styles on display, from the continued innovation of CG animation inspired by 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse to the reemergence of stop-motion animation from legendary filmmakers such as Guillermo del Toro and Henry Selick. Tune into the episode to hear our full thoughts on the year that was, and join us in celebrating last year’s achievements in animation!
