After the big tonal and status quo shifts of the previous episode, we discover the full extent of both Lordgenome’s original plans and the methods he attempted to use to protect the power of the Spiral and, by extension, humanity. Meanwhile, we also discover just what Rossiu has been up to as his agenda becomes clear. Yep, that’s right, while Nia has been seemingly mind-controlled into doing the Anti-Spirals’ bidding, Rossiu has been keeping Lordgenome’s head alive and sentient!

Not only was this a pretty cool and shocking twist, it also led to the revelation that ol’ ‘genome was actually trying to protect humanity, which I kind of saw coming since about midway through “season one,” for lack of a better term. I’m excited to see where Rossiu’s arc goes, because the guy seems to be going down a dark path.

Nia, too, seems to be at a crossroads. It’s almost like a virus has taken over her consciousness, and I’m curious to see if she comes out of it. (Of course she will, but they’re gonna have fun with it, I’m sure.)
